Why Shadowfax? Our cluster is so fast that we named it after the Lord Of The Rings character!

We finally finished most of UNIT02 Partial Derivatives this week. Yeah! I'm not used to this leasurely pace. Last summer we covered one unit and had one test every week, not every 3 weeks. Anyway, on Tuesday February 16th we covered the remaining concepts of this unit: S-V-A Review, New Chain Rule, Gradients, Tangent Planes and LaGrange Multipliers.
Then we reviewed our CHAP15 homework assignments on Thursday February 18th. Here's some highlights from our HWK02 review:
Next week you get a well deserved break. Please ignore the Zoom schedule which lists meetings for this coming week. I will see you again on Tuesday March 2nd for our preTest2A review and Thursday March 4th for Test2B.
We start UNIT03 Iterated Integrals Thursday Marth 11th. I bet you can't wait! Don't forget, we don't meet Tuesday March 9th as you have your Evening Activity Hour.

Congratulations, you have arrived! We finally started Unit02 regarding Partial Differentiation. Good job on completing Unit01 (first 3 weeks, 6 classes) and our first TEST1B on Vectors and Matrices. Most of you did well. If you didn't, let not your heart be troubled, we have 4 more tests coming up over the course of our remaining 10 weeks or so. If you show improvement, I will drop your lowest test score.
This week we introduced the Partial Derivative and covered Optimization problems using the Second Partials Test. Next week we'll cover the New Chain Rule and LaGrange Multipliers on Tuesday. Then we'll have a HWK02 review session in our Zoom Breakout rooms. I think you got a lot out of our HWK01 review last unit, so I hope you will learn a lot this time too.
As far as HWK02 is concerned, please do a few questions each week night. Just do a page or two of the multiples of 5 assigned in the Syllabus (see Blackboard) from each section. Don't spend more than an hour or two each night. Don't forget to review your notes, review our SAGE notes (see Blackboard or links above), watch our ScreenCasts (see Blackboard), read the textbook and consult our Online Math Learning Center whenever you are stuck! Here's the pages to focus on for your Chapter 15 homework:
