(I was inspired to start doing Independent Study Projects with my students by James McLurkin. When he came to me and asked for help with a Robotics project for the Westing House competition I got to thinking. What can I do with my students to challenge them outside of class with topics related to what we are doing in class. The projects listed below that predate this one were personal projects of mine that I shared with students in class. I don't know how helpful I was to James, but I thank him for inspiring me!)
